Happy Friday, Happy Friday!!!!! On this Friday Favorites, I thought it would be fun to share a couple of my favorite wedding memories. I probably have 567 favorite memories but I will just touch on three of them. :)
Getting ready with all my bridesmaids, my mom and Austin's mom was so special to me. We were getting primped basically all day. We had amazing food from Ketchie Creek and prosecco (just a little for me because my stomach was nervous hehe). When I think about the wedding planning process, I cannot help but think about my amazing mother. She truly was my rock and my best friend throughout all of this. Without her, I do not know where I would be. Yes, there were stressful times (think road construction right in front of our reception site) but my mom always took care of it. The morning of the wedding, Mom kept me calm and relaxed. She is very special to me and my wedding day will always be some of the best memories of my life, thanks to her. Love you, Mom.
Another special memory was when my dad had his "first look" at me. I had kept everything secret from him because I really wanted to have a moment with him before I walked down the aisle. My mom and I were in a room and waited for Dad to come. He walked in and told me that I looked like a princess. If I could describe how I was feeling at that moment, I would...but I just can't. My parents were giving me away to Austin and the symbolism of the "first look" with my dad was basically him showing he is proud and happy for me. After that time with my parents, I cannot help but get teary eyed when I think about that moment. It was so amazing.
I cannot talk about our wedding and NOT talk about Austin. :) There are SO many sweet memories I have from the day of our wedding. Walking down the aisle and seeing his handsome face, holding hands with him at the altar, hearing his amazing words he wrote for me, dancing with him, eating Sunset Slush with him, I could go on and on. I have to say one of my favorite memories is our first dance to "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz. We picked that song because it really spoke to us. The process of getting in med school, living far away from family/friends, him being a med student...let's just say it can be difficult. But one thing we keep in mind to get us through: we can do ANYTHING together and with Christ. Austin is my best friend and I simply cannot imagine going through life without him by my side. Looking in his eyes as we were dancing to that song...wow...I was so grateful. I was grateful for him (my dream guy) and all of the people who have supported us. It was a feeling like no other--I'll never forget that moment. :)
Question: If you are married: What was one of your favorite memories from your wedding? Or if you are single: What is your favorite part of weddings?
